Once you know it all works, either upgrade the Leopard partition or stick with the new one, then erase and re-merge the unused partition. Because I wasn't in the right Space, Cmd-Tab didn't raise the modal dialog box to the top. Thus, if youre paranoid, it might pay off to create a Snow Leopard partition, do a clean install there, and migrate your data from the Leopard partition. ![]() Later, I figured the update must have completed-and it had, only I didn't realize it b/c I never saw the completion dialog box.Ĭmd-Tab to Software Update only gave me the menu bar, with greyed out options. Later, the Software Update dialog box announcing completion, and asking me to reboot, must have popped up when I was in "Spaces" and zoomed out to show all four spaces - because it appeared somewhat randomly in one of my rarely-used spaces, nestled behind a bunch of Finder windows. Go to the Applications folder and open App Store. Fine, I thought, and did some web browsing. If you wish to upgrade FROM Snow Leopard, make sure you are running OS 10.6. It told me that I would have to reboot when it finished. Regarding 10.6.1 - I had to laugh at this one.
